Venturing into any new territory is alway difficult, especially with novel writing! Although I’ve been writing both fiction and nonfiction for nearly 30 years (since college in the 1990s), I’ve never taken the time to write a true love story.

The crazy thing is, I’ve always wanted to!

I sat down to the task of writing Falling for the Rainforest Doctor in March of 2024, hoping to place the 50,000 word novel with Harlequin’s Medical Romance line. Although I got close, my vision for the final story didn’t align with the publisher’s cookie-cutter guidelines, so I decided to go Indy!

As those reading this post will see, I’m at the very start of building my platform in this highly competitive genre. This blog/newsletter, as well as my author facebook page, are brand spanking new; I literally launched them along with the book, fives days ago. As such, I have limited subscribers here, and minimal followers on my author page on facebook.
